The Stage in the Woods
The “Stage in the Woods” Amphitheatre reopens this autumn at The Mount, Camphill Community, in partnership with Common Ground Theatre.
Carefully designed with creativity and sustainability at its heart, the round stage has been built using reclaimed and locally sourced materials. Nestled in a natural woodland clearing, it offers audiences an immersive theatre experience that is both ecologically sensitive and magical.
The amphitheatre will serve as the official base for Common Ground Theatre during rehearsal periods. Alongside performances, the company will run workshops and an internship programme for students of The Mount Camphill Community, creating valuable opportunities for vocational training and artistic collaboration.
“This is more than just a stage,” says Artistic Director Sadie Jemmett. “Stage in the Woods reflects our shared vision of theatre that is inclusive, sustainable, and deeply rooted in community. To perform Twelfth Night in such a space feels like the perfect celebration of nature, art, and human connection.”
